TELL OTHERS

READ: 2 KINGS 7:8-11
The four lepers at the gate of Samaria took their lives in their hands and went to the camp of their enemies. On their arrival, they found nothing but tents filled with food, silver, gold and clothes. They had their fill of these and hid a great deal more, and then they took the good news to others. From this story we learn that miracles can be found in unexpected places. Can you imagine going into enemy territory only to receive a contract of millions of Dollars? With God, nothing is impossible. He moves in unpredictable ways and usually gives miracles in ways you would least expect. Naaman sought healing at the place of the king of Israel. Where did he receive his miracle? In the Jordan river.
Jesus Christ sent Peter fishing. He caught a fish and found a gold coin inside its mouth (Matthew 17:24-27). No one would have expected to find money in a fish. Your miracle may come from a source you are expecting. Some people believe it is only when the pastor lays hands on them that the miracle will come. That was what Naaman thought, but God cannot to be dictated to as to how he should perform a miracle. Tell him the ‘what’ and leave the ‘how’ to him.
Also we see that with God it is possible to move suddenly from the valley to mountaintop. A short while previously, the lepers were dying of starvation but in no time at all they were suddenly overfed. They moved from being penniless to have fixed deposits. When God turned around the captivity of Job, he forgot all the misfortunes of the previous nine months. The Lord will give you a sharp rise from obscurity to prominence, from barrenness to motherhood and from lack to abundance. And he will cause you to forget your sorrows of yesterday.
Even the lepers knew it was wrong to keep their good fortune to themselves. It was a day of good news. The Good News is that Jesus has come to die for mankind and save us from sin and the consequences of sin, and Satan. Having tasted of salvation, it is wrong not to introduce Jesus to your relatives, friends, parents, neighbours – everyone! Joy is infectious. Those who spread good news are hardly sad. Join the band of proclaimers of the Good News of Jesus today.
