READ:
DANIEL 2:19-23
Many times
people listen to the words coming out of someone’s mouth, and are deceived. To
know what is truly in a man’s heart, they should look in his eyes. Eyes are the
windows of the heart. Whatever his eyes are saying, that is the true picture.
Just as eyes reflect what is in a person’s heart, God wants to use believers to show the world what he has in store for it. Genesis 41:14-36 tell of the dreams Pharaoh had, but to get the right interpretation, he needed God’s servant, Joseph. Nebuchadnezzar also dreamt, but could not tell the meaning thereof until Daniel, one of the apples of God’s eyes, explained it to him.
“However when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.” (John 16:13).
Jesus says here that the Holy Spirit will show us future events. He reveals the heart of God and tells us exactly what God is thinking about us. In fact, in Amos 3:7, God says he will not do anything before he has revealed it to his prophets. To know God’s mind, all you need to do is look in his eyes. God expects the apples of his eyes to be the channels for releasing compassion and mercy on people.
Has God been revealing his secrets to you? How much of what he is planning for your life, your immediate and extended family, parish, neighbourhood, city or nation does God reveal to you? Does God show you the plans of your enemies? If you are dedicated, he will reveal these to you. If you know nothing about his plans, you should draw closer to him and be sensitive to the guidance of his Holy Spirit.
Go to him and tell him you really want to be the apple of his eye from today onwards. Be prepared to do whatever he asks. Before long, he will begin to share his secrets with you.
