LOVING TILL DEATH

READ: JOHN 10:15-18
Until you sacrifice your Isaac, God may not be committed to fulfilling whatever promise He made to you. If you desire to be great is not backed up by an adequate sacrifice, it will leave such desires in the realm of mere wishes. It is your sacrifice that adds weight to your desires thereby transforming them into reality. To what extent are you ready to sacrifice for God? God sacrificed His only begotten Son Jesus Christ and He became the first born among many brethren.
When I newly joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God, there was a particular woman who was not rich enough to buy a bus, but hired one in which she conveyed children from the Police barracks to Sunday school every Sunday. Today, at least two of her children are Assistant General Overseers in this church. When last did you pay or convey people to the Holy Ghost service? In times past, we paid for those who had no money to go to the Congress. We filled the existing gap. I sold my first car to buy stamps for inviting people to the Congress. An elderly pastor who knew of my sacrifice said God will kill whoever envies me riding in a good car or living in a beautiful house, because I was simply reaping from my seeds. What seeds have you sown from which you are expecting a harvest?
“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend” (John 15:13). Your flesh must die because to love is to die. 1 John 3:16 says Jesus loves us to the point of dying for us, we too should love Him in return to the point of dying for fellow believers. In Philippians 1:21, Paul was ready to die out his love for Jesus. Can you make a commitment to Jesus even to the point of death? If you cannot, your loyalty and love to the Master remain questionable. Those the Holy Spirit can count on for the last days assignment are those who count death as nothing. They are dead to the flesh. The attractions and distraction of the world mean nothing to them. The suggestions of Jesus Christ are the laws they live by. They have put their hands on the gospel and there is no looking back. They have burnt their bridges. Do you fall into this category of believers? May the Lord find you useful in these last days. How important is your life to you? Can you afford to lose it so as to find it?
MEMORIZE: JOHN 15:3 –Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you
