MOUNTAIN-DWELLERS

READ: EPHESIANS 2:1-6
Eagles are very interesting creatures. Wherever they roam, they live on the highest mountain available. They look for the tallest tree. They will choose the highest rock to build their nest. If an eagle finds a nest higher than its own, it will build another one on a higher branch that very day, because the king of birds cannot tolerate it if lesser creatures have nests higher than its own. That is also why they continue to evade the majority of hunters.
As a spiritual eagle, you should always aim for the mountaintop, not the valley. The valley is an enemy stronghold. The valley contains gossips and backbiters. Psalm 1:1 says: “BLESSED is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”
Whenever you encounter a true spiritual eagle, you will find him or her on the mountaintop. He or she will either be praying, praising God, studying God’s Word or preaching it. He has no time to mingle with backbiters or gossips. If you spend ten minutes with a spiritual eagle, he or she will leave you totally refreshed.
Ephesians 1:20-21 says that Jesus is seated far above all principality and demonic power. Ephesians 2:5-6 says we are seated together in heavenly places in Christ.
In biblical times people used to build their homes on hills, so that they could easily see and defeat enemies who come against them. When you are on the mountaintop, your enemies will be sitting targets for your missiles. You will be able to handle people who are involved in the occult. You will live a victorious Christian life.
Where are you dwelling? Are you in the valley, halfway up the mountain or right on the summit?
MEMORIZE: EXODUS 24:12 –And the LORD said to Moses, Come up to Me into the mount, and be there: and I will give you tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that you may teach them.
