CHARIOTS OF FIRE

READ: 2 KINGS 6:8-17
There is no security outside Christ. If you place your trust in men, they will fail you. In fact, when you put your trust in man, God says that when he decides to deal with you, the one helping you will be first one to go and there will be no one to defend you. Physical chariots are man-made while the chariots of God are made of fire. According to our text, the king wanted to arrest Elisha. The servant of Elisha did not see the chariots of fire around them to protect them from the attack of the king until Elisha prayed that God should open his eyes. The moment you give your life to Jesus Christ, you are surrounded with chariots of fire even though you may not see them. In Psalm 127:1, the Bible says: “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Unless God keep you, your bodyguards are useless. Attackers could kill them. When the Almighty God is your Keeper, He will turn away the eyes of the enemy from you. That is why the Bible says, “Those who trust in the LOR are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever” (Psalm 125:1). The Bible has a lot to say to people who put their trust in charms, amulets, covenants and secret societies. “Your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.” (Isaiah 28:18). When you put your trust in other things apart from God, you will soon discover that the Almighty God has a way of dealing with those who think that they are wise. He will confuse them so much that they will not even know their right from their left. God is the only sure refuge. When you place your trust in Him, He will surround you with impenetrable chariots of fire. I wonder who can hen pass through a wall of fire and attack you!
MEMORIZE: PSALM 37:3 –Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
