READ:
DANIEL 6:6-24
Are you a
child of God, then you are precious to Him. Believers mean so much to God that
they are referred to as God’s battle-axe. “You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: for
with you I will break the nation in pieces; with you I will destroy kingdoms;”
(Jeremiah 51:20). You are God’s battle-axe. However, you are an effective
battle-axe only if you live above sin. The moment you fall into sin, you become
a blunt axe. We need to understand that there is a difference between falling
into sin and falling into trouble. You can be a child of God and still fall
into trouble. You can be living holy, full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and
still fall into trouble. God did not say that this world would be a bed of
roses. Jesus Christ said that we would have tribulations in this world but we
must be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Can a righteous man
fall into trouble? Psalm 37:23-24 tells us: “The steps of a good man are
ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not
be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand.” Was it
sin that sent Daniel into the lions’ den? As a matter of act, he was thrown
into lions’ den because he was a holy man. Was it lack of faith that sent
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into fiery furnace? It was the contrary: it was
their faith in God that made the king sends them into the fiery furnace (Daniel
6). We may want to ask why God silently watched as His beloved children were
going through crisis. Why did God silently watch when Shadrach, Meshach and
Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace? Why did God silently watch as
Daniel was being thrown into the lions’ den? God watched because He knew what
He was going to do. He was already waiting in the furnace and in the lions’
den. God was sitting down in Heaven, as it were, while Goliath raved against
the army of Israel. God said nothing because, years before Goliath was born, He
had already created the stone that would kill him. Long before you were born,
God had provided the solution to your problems. God has a plan for your life.
He will come to your rescue at the nick of time.
