PLEAD YOUR CASE

READ: EXODUS 32:7-9
To intercede you need an intercessor’s mind-set. An intercessor is someone who is ready to spend and be spent. He is someone who is ready to lay down his life for the needy. An intercessor is selfless, sacrificial, tireless, faithful and addicted to standing in the gap for the needy. Intercessors are generally willing to pay any price to fulfil their calling. They persist when others are complaining. Intercessors are versed in the Scriptures. They also know how to dwell in the inner chambers of prayer. Intercessors are not popular. Although men do not know them, God knows them. Moses strikes me as a classical example of a practical intercessor. The children of Israel forgot the One who brought them out of bondage and made other gods for themselves. God became angry with them. “Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, Oh, these people have sinned a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold! Yet now, if You will forgive their sin –but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written.” (Exodus 32:31-32).God called the Israelites the people of Moses. Moses replied by saying that they were God’s people. He said it was God that brought them out of bondage and not him. Moses reminded God that His name was involved. At a certain stage, Moses offered himself in exchange for the people’s offence. That is the heart of an intercessor. Are you an intercessor?
MEMORIZE: EXODUS 32:32 –Yet now, if You will forgive their sin –but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written.
