BLESSED FOR A PURPOSE

READ: ESTHER 4:10-17
God blesses his children for certain reasons. He never makes mistakes, because he is a careful planner. In Malachi 3:10, God promised to pour an overflow of blessings upon his faithful children. But why? He has a purpose for the extras. Many believers today are yet to recognise the purpose of god's blessing upon their lives. Some think that the good jobs they have are solely to benefit them and their immediate family. That is far from the truth. And as long as you fail to recognise God's purpose in giving you a job and blessing you financially, materially, intellectually and spiritually, you will surely abuse the privilege. Have you ever asked God, 'What is your purpose or expectation for favouring me so?' If you sincerely ask, you will get to know why.
Esther, a Jewish slave girl captured and brought with others to the palace at Shushan, through God's favour was selected as one of the candidates for queen, when Vashti's position became vacant through disobedience. God allowed Esther to win the contest. But years later, persecution arose against God's people who were still slaves in the land. Initially Esther was silent and was on the verge of losing all her people. But her uncle reminded her that God had most probably made her queen to save the lives of the Jews. She rose up and fulfilled God's purpose.
When the Israelites were leaving Egypt after spending over 400 years in slavery, God gave them special favour, to empty Egypt of all her gold and jewellery. This was partly to restore to Israel gthe years of working without pay. But more than this, it was to give them the materials they needed much later to build the temple. Their ignorance led them to make a golden calf.
God has blessed you in one or more areas. It could be to help others or to support the work of God. Whatever your purpose, find and fulfil it. Otherwise, like Vasthi, you will be replaced by somebody who will.
Esther rose up to use her office to save lives even if it cost her own life. But she lived and her people were saved. When you fulfil the purpose for which you were created or blessed, no danger will befall you.
MEMORIZE: 2 CORINTHIANS 9:8 -And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.
