ISAIAH 35:1-8
Temptation
is no sin, but falling into temptation is a sin. There will always be
temptations but make sure that you do not yield to them. Since God is all
knowing He is bound to know whatever you do in secret. There is nothing you can
hide from God. If you are holy and have nothing to hide, you will not be afraid
of having God by your side every time. The moment you begin to sin, you cannot
be assured of God’s presence by your side. The fruit of holiness is security.
Isaiah 32:17 says: “The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of
righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.” According to Isaiah
33:15-16, “He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, he who despises the gain
of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, who stops his
ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil; he will
dwell on high; his place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; bread will
be given him, his water will be sure.” What then is holiness? Another word for
holiness is obedience, while another word for sin is disobedience. In order to
be secure from all attacks of the enemy, you have to obey God without any
objection. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego obeyed God entirely. They obeyed the
commandment that they should serve no other god. They were in a foreign land
where the king ordered them to disobey God, but they refused to obey the king’s
order and they got into trouble. They were put into the fiery furnace, but God
brought them out alive. God said we must pray ceaselessly and seek His face
every time, and Daniel obeyed. A decree was made against praying but Daniel
insisted that he would not disobey God. He was put i the lion’s den but God
brought him out alive. Holiness is obeying God all the way.
