GENESIS 3:1-6
Just as
Jesus has brought the Good News of the Gospel to the world to offer life and
hope, so also has Satan come with another gospel. “But even if we, or an angel
from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you,
let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8).
Some people expect that, being the father of liars, Satan is incapable of telling an iota of truth. This is not so. Satan himself knows that if all he says are lies, everyone will avoid him. So it is his strategy to combine truth with a little, but deadly lie. It is like taking a good apple and injecting poison into it. Anyone who eats it will end up dying.
When Satan met Eve in the Garden of Eden, he told her: “You will not surely die.” (Genesis 3:4). He was partially right. He meant to tell her that if she ate the fruit, she would not die physically. So when she took of it, she was still physically alive. With this, she persuaded her husband Adam also to eat of it. But spiritually, they both died. They lost their glory of God they were clothed in. they lost the power and authority to rule this world to Satan. That Satan never told them.
Satan tells people it is not possible to be holy: just let your good outweigh the bad and you will end up in heaven. But Scripture says if you break one commandment, you are guilty of breaking all. If you want to serve God, serve him with your whole heart. And if you want to be a sinner, better win the prize as a chronic sinner. You cannot combine the two. Another satanic gospel is the lie that after death, you will have a second chance of living right and making it to heaven. But Hebrews 9:27 says: “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment…”
Besides, Satan says it is pointless to wash in the blood of someone who died 2000 years ago to have your sins cleansed. He says there is no hell; so feel free to do what you like. He even teaches people to deny his existence and say it is only good and evil that exist. Any lie of the devil you believe will have a negative effect on you. Refuse it and hold fast to the undiluted Word of God. In that lies your strength.
