SATAN’S BATTLE PLAN

READ: 1 PETER 5:8-9
I was a boxer in my University days. In boxing, there are three ways to defeat your opponent: the jab, which is a soft punch to the head to make him expose his stomach; then you apply the hook and punch his stomach which forces him to bend towards you; thereafter you use the knockout punch to bring him down on all fours. The devil is a skilled boxer in the battle of life. He knows how to apply the three types of punches to bring his victim down completely. Elijah was one of his victims. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah single-handedly confronted and defeated 450 prophets of Baal and had them killed. He thought that victory on Mount Carmel would turn everyone else to begin to worship the true God.
When King Ahab reported the event his satanic wife, she vowed to retaliate. In 1 Kings 19:2-4, Satan through Jezebel threw the first salvo, which was a jab, threatening to kill Elijah just the way he had killed her prophets of Baal. Elijah heard the message and became depressed. When Satan found out that his jab had exposed Elijah’s stomach, he gave him another by sending he spirit of fear into him. Before you knew it, Elijah completely lost hope for his life and ministry. He had forgotten all his anointing. He was now begging God to take his life.
Fear is a formidable weapon, used by the satanic kingdom. It is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Scripture says that God has not given you a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. Also it is written that “…But he who fears has not been made perfect in love, but perfect love casts out fear.”
Are you yielding to the jabs of the enemy? Are you bowing down to fear? Most of the things you worry about have been destined never to happen. So why give yourself high blood pressure and hypertension? Why kill yourself before your time? Reject the arrows of fear shot into your life. Refuse to be discouraged. Reject depression and submit fully to God. Confess the Word of God about your present state and believe it. Before you know it, you will be blessed.
MEMORIZE: 1 JOHN 4:18 –There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
