WANDERING?

READ: NUMBERS 32:8-13

About to enter the Promised Land, God asked Moses to send out 12 men to spy the land. Ten of them brought an evil report and succeeded in convincing the people that they could not inherit the land. Even though Caleb and Joshua, the only ones differing, tried to convince them otherwise, the people were stubborn and ready to return to Egypt.
Beware of what you accept from people. The Israelites were virtually saying it was pointless serving God just because they felt he was unable to give them their desired haven. They had forgotten the past. Are you like the Israelites? Some Christians, after waiting upon God over a particular issue and seeming not to be making any headway, down tools and decide to go to the devil. Have you forgotten all God’s blessings, provision, deliverance and healing of the past? Are you not refusing to give your time in serving God today as a way of getting back at him?
In our reading, verse 13, God was angry at sins of the Israelites and he caused them to wander for 40 years in the wilderness until they died before entering the Promised Land.
“And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.” (Numbers 14:33).
Are you wandering aimlessly in life? Do you keep going round and round in circles? You struggle and labour so much. You pray and fast so much. Men of God have prayed and laid hands on you. But it seems nothing is working. Please check out your life: reflect and trace back your relationship with God. Could you have done something that brought such punishment? As you retrace your steps and confess every sin, like Jonah, the Lord will forgive and remove whatever stumbling block he has allowed in your way.

MEMORIZE: NUMBERS 14:33 –And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.
