EPHESIANS 5:17-20
There is a
very strong link between victory and a joyful disposition. It is quite easy to
defeat a foe that is sad, discouraged and low-spirited. However, it is
difficult to overcome a highly motivated enemy. From the foregoing, we discover
that motivation plays a crucial role in ensuring ultimate victory in life. Joy
is a weapon of warfare. When the Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our
strength, it simply means that joy ensures and strengthens your victory. As
saints, we should be joyful because the joy of the Lord is our strength. You
need to strengthen yourself with the joy of the Lord. Saints are also to sing
aloud. The devil is aware that the winning side is shouting side. The high
praises of God should be in our mouths. What do we mean by high praises? High
praises are powerful songs that lift you up. High praises take you above the stronghold.
They place in your hand a two-edged sword. High praises empower you to do
exploits in spiritual warfare. The enemy may escape other or one-sided sword
but there is no way of escape from a double-edged sword. Ephesians 6:17 says
the two-edged sword is the word of God. With this, you can now execute
vengeance and bind the strongman. Therefore, to get your beloved one loosened,
you begin the battle with high praises. You first have to make sure that you
are full of joy. You have no many things to be joyful about. You are joyful
because victory is sure. When you have gone above the stronghold, you will now
dive against the enemy with your two-edged sword in your hand. You come down
and bind the enemy and loosen your beloved one. You can then command the
stronghold to become a plain, in the name of Jesus. When you released your
beloved one, you can start another session of praise and worship. By the time
the enemy reinforces, your beloved is free. Praise is one weapon the enemy
cannot withstand. It is so explosive that it hits him like dynamite. Try high
praises and you will succeed in destroying the enemy’s stronghold.
