A GODLY HERITAGE

READ: GALATIANS 4:1-8
Those who come from royal families generally wish to be identified as men and women with royal blood flowing through their veins. They are always proud of their heritage. When a prince passes through a street, members of the community would likely say, “Here goes the prince”. Some people might even go ahead to wish that they also could lay claim to royalty or nobility. Although earthly princes and princesses are accorded lots of respect, there is a greater honour for those who can lay claim to divine heritage.
God so loved you and me that he gave us Jesus Christ, but there are certain things that follow. One of those things is that we can become children of God (John 1:12). If you receive Jesus Christ, you can now cal yourself, without any doubt, a child of God.
The blood of your father flows in your veins. There is a link between the blood of a father and the blood of his son. The blood of the Almighty God begins to flow in your veins the moment you become born again. Jesus Christ said He is the Vine and we are the branches (John 15:1-2). It is the same liquid that flows through the vine that flows through the branches. Whether you believe it or not, from the day you become born again, you undergo a blood transfusion. This is why any witch that tries to kill you will die as she will taste the blood of God and die. 2 Peter 1:2-4 confirms that we are partakers of the very nature of God: “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” The very nature of God becomes available to you the moment you become born again, meaning that your nature becomes the same with that of God. What a glorious heritage!
MEMORIZE: JOHN 1:12 –But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
