CORINTHIANS 5:10-21
This is the
hour of revival. Whether you like it or not, it is time to seek the Lord. It is
wrong to think we can go on doing what we like. After all, we do not know when
Jesus will come. Although He has tarried in His coming, we can no longer afford
to fool around. If Jesus Christ does not come and you die as a born-again
Christian, it all amounts to the same thing. So, it is time to seek the Lord
for true salvation. Many of us claim to be born-again when we are not. Even
when we claim to be saved, the signs are hardly visible in us. The Bible says:
“Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Are you
really different from what you used to be? How many of your friends have told
you, you are a new person? Have you personally seen any difference in the way
you talk, act and dress? Are you really different or you are just playing
church? If you cannot convincingly say you have really changed, it is time to
seek the Lord. No one of us is promised the next moment and whoever goes to
hell will be there forever. This challenges us to be concerned about the youths
in particular. One young man sat on his motorbike to listen to the sermon in
one of our churches. He heard the testimony of an old man who strayed a lot in
his youth before coming to Christ. The young man did not take the testimony
seriously, thinking he was still quite young and had plenty of time to mess
around before coming to Christ. On his way home, he lost control of his bike,
crashed into a wall and died instantly. Death does not ask for one’s age before
it strikes. The Bible says, in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “For He says: In an acceptable
time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold,
now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Now is
the time to seek the Lord. This is you hour of opportunity. Tomorrow may be too
late.
