READ: GENESIS
18:23-26
God is
willing to bless everyone who calls upon His name. However, He is of purer eyes
than would behold iniquity. Even if we all join hands together and ask God to
bless all of us, those who may have done something deserving of curse shall be
cursed. God cannot bless every Tom, Dock and Harry. He only blesses those who
are qualified. Can you recall the encounter between Elisha and the unruly
children? Only forty-two of them were agents of the devil. The others were
probably coerced into singing along with them, as it happens during demonstrations
in the universities. When the bears came, the agents of the devil were
destroyed. All the satanic agents in your life shall be destroyed in Jesus
name. When judgment comes, God normally distinguishes between the innocent and
the guilty. In our text, Abraham asked God whether He would kill the wicked
with the righteous in Sodom and Gomorrah. God said, no. He said that even if He
found just fifty righteous people there, He would spare the city so that the
righteous would not be killed along with the wicked. No evil person can hide in
a gathering of the children of God to perpetrate evil. The Bible says: “For
the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your
enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no
unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.” (Deuteronomy 23:14).
In a gathering of the children of God, God moves round to do two things: to
deliver us from our enemies, and t make them fall before us. As He moves fro ne
person to another, if He gets to an unclean person, He would turn away. Such a
person is left in he hands of the enemies. If God leaves you alone or one
minute with the devil, you are finished. You cannot deceive God. He knows every
detail of your life. What is hidden to your neighbours is an open secret before
Him. If you want to be blessed, you must avoid doing hat will turn Him away.
MEMORIZE:
DEUTERONOMY 23:14 –For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to
deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be
holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.
