READ:
MATTHEW 10:1-10
God is
raising an army. He is putting up an end-time squad that will be His mighty
instrument for destroying the powers of darkness. A recruitment drive is going
on. As we hold evangelistic programmes, new converts will be won. We must
recruit these new entrants into the Army of the Lord. We must understand how
God recruits soldiers to be able to do the recruiting, which is an order to us
and a mission that must be accomplished. When you think of recruiting as going
out to meet and try to win over someone who probably thinks he does not need
your help, it seems a difficult job to do. But God says whether we like or not,
we must keep on witnessing until all civilians become soldiers of the cross.
When God sends His soldiers on a mission, nothing short of “Mission
Accomplished” is expected of us. No matter how daunting the mission may be, we
need to not fret as He has promised to provide the strength to accomplish it.
Verses 7-8 of our text tells us something we do not usually take seriously: “And
as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick,
cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received,
freely give. ” Our duty is not to just preach. We are also to heal the
sick, cleanse the leper and raise the dead. This is an order. To carry out this
order, you are compelled to seek for the power of the Almighty God. Whatever it
may take, you have to seek for the power of God. After being baptised in the
Holy Spirit, many of us erroneously believe that is all there is to it. The
effect of that power must be seen in our lives. If there is no evidence of
God’s power in our lives, we are denying the word of God. We need to be
empowered by God if we want to take part in the recruitment drive. Pray until
you are supernaturally empowered to do God’s work.
MEMORIZE:
MATTHEW 10:1 –And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them
power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness
and all kinds of disease.
