RETURN TO SOURCE

READ: EXODUS 14:13-18
“So David fled and escaped, and went to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth.” (1 Samuel 19:21).
David’s life was under threat, so he ran from King Saul to Samuel. He returned to the source of his anointing. Some Christians, when faced with problems, run from the problems to man, Egypt (the world), and even Satan. But David knew just where to go. When confronted by difficulties on your path, where do you run to?
The Shunanmite woman provoked a prophecy from Elisha that she would have a son. It came to pass. Some years later, in 2 Kings 4:18-26, the child died. She was not confused at all. Some believers become agitated and confused over little problems. But this woman did not. She ran back to her source, through Elisha, and sorrow became a double joy! “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” (James 1:17).
Have you lost any blessing God bestowed on you at any time? Satan cannot restore the blessing he did not bequeath. Man cannot help you either. Crying, grumbling and complaining can best help to worsen the situation. Why not return like the Shunammite woman to the Giver of good gifts? Return to God. Have you backslidden? Like Samson, you can return to the source and have him revive you again. The source we are talking about is the Alpha and Omega. That means if you think you have reached your wits end, when you meet him he will put you back at the beginning of your joy.
MEMORIZE: 1 SAMUEL 19:21 –So David fled and escaped, and went to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth.
