READ: DANIEL 2:1-20
Remaining a champion is not as easy as becoming
one. Champions are generally struggle to remain on top. This is because the
moment you become number one, nobody else would be praying for you. Everybody
would be praying against you as they, too, want to become number one. Your
challenger begins to prepare against you the moment you become number one. In 1
Thessalonians 5:16-17 we have the greatest advice you can give to any champion:
“Rejoice
always, pray without ceasing.” If you are ever going to remain a
champion you must remain in direct contact with the One that made you a
champion, for the rest of your life, even when there is no contest. Jesus
Christ said, in Matthew 26:41 that we should watch and pray so as not to enter
into temptation. In other words, even when there are no temptations round you,
you should watch and pray. You should watch and pray when everything is going
on fine. While you are sleeping peacefully, trouble may be brewing for you in
another man’s room. In Daniel 2, we have the story of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach
and Abednego and the wise men of Babylon. They were sleeping peacefully in
their room, having a nice time. However, in the palace, the king was dreaming.
He woke up forgetting his dream. He summoned all his wise men to remind him of
his dream and interpret it. He vowed to kill them if they did not heed to his
request. While you are sleeping in your room peacefully, do you know how many
witches and wizards are holding meetings about you in their rooms? When all is
well and there seems to be no problem at all, please pray.
MEMORIZE: MATTHEW 26:41 –Watch and
pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the
flesh is weak.
