READ: PSALM
103:1-22
May I ask
you this important question: What is more important to you, God’s blessings or
His presence? Many of us serve God because we want victories over our enemies.
We serve God because we want promotion in our place of work, and because of
prosperity. However, God’s presence is more important than all these. Every
true child of God, who is truly sanctified, will want to gaze at the beauty of
the Almighty God on a constant basis. However, those of us who are sanctified
realise that, at certain times, we seem to search for Him in vain. Once in a
while, just as the cloud covers the sun, the cloud covers the Sun of
righteousness and yet we want to Him what do you do when the cloud covers the
sun? If you are really desperate, you go above the clouds. Once in a while, in
the spiritual, we need to go beyond the clouds so that we can see the Sun,
without any obstruction. How do we do this? Isaiah 40:31 gives us a clue, “But
those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with
wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not
faint.” How do we wait upon the Lord? This is by praising Him and not
by bombarding Him with requests. Those who know how to wait upon the Lord go
into His presence with praises. As they praise Him, they feel their own heads
swelling and feeling something lifting them out of their flesh, taking them
beyond the clouds. They find themselves in place where they forget all their
problems. They forget all disappointments and instead have a joy that comes
from knowing that they belong to God. God will then show them what He can do,
this is the moment of God’s glory and His majesty. As you continue to celebrate
Him He will visit you and leave a blessing behind. Try praises today. It works.
