NEHEMIAH 2:17-20
Surveying
the entire gamut of the greatness and the sovereignty of God we discover that
the greatest privilege on earth is to be able to say, “Abba, Father.” Anyone
who decides to position himself against a beloved child of God is undertaking a
suicidal mission. Whoever makes himself your enemy automatically becomes God’s
enemy. As long as an enemy cannot conquer God, he cannot conquer you. Once you
have settled with God and there is no rift between you and your Maker, the
enemy does not stand a chance. They can surround you but they cannot surround
God. The Heaven of heavens cannot contain Him, as Solomon said, so how can an
enemy surround Him? He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
When the enemies surround you, He will surround them. When He surrounds them,
He will hit them from behind. He will surround your enemies and ambush them as
He did to the enemies who came to besiege Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:20-23).
Because the enemies cannot surround God, they present themselves as casualty.
They cannot hide from the One above. God was the first person to throw bombs,
as recorded in Joshua 10:10-11 (When Joshua was fighting against the five kings
that came against him). God sent hailstones on the enemy soldiers. As long as
the enemies surrounding you are standing on God’s own soil, the ground will
swallow them up, as He did, in Numbers 16:23-33, to Korah. If all is well
between you and God, no siege will last against you because, in Isaiah 8:9-10,
the Almighty God promises that your enemies will be broken into pieces: “Be
shattered, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Give ear, all you from far
countries. Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, but
it will come to nothing; speak the word, but it will not stand, for God is with
us.” If God is with us, nobody can be against us. Proverbs 19:21 says:
“There
are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the LORD’s counsel-that will
stand.” If the Lord is on your side, every siege in your life will end
today. Tell God you belong to Him; therefore, every siege against your body,
soul and spirit, your family and finances should be broken into pieces. Also ask
God to surround every enemy that surrounds you and deal with them decisively.
MEMORIZE:
ISAIAH 8:10 –Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak the
word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.
