THE ENTRY POINT

READ: PROVERBS 26:1-3
Problems can be likened to a tree. If you cut off a tree leaving its stump, it will sprout again. As long as the roots are intact, you have only swept the dirt under a carpet. To get rid of a tree you have to deal with the root. Why would God allow a siege to come into the life of a man or a city? As far as the Lord is concerned, there is only one principal cause of siege. This is sin. You can also call it disobedience to God. Deuteronomy 28:15, 49 and 53 tell us more about this. “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.” “The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand,” “You shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your own sons and your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you.”God is saying here that if you do not obey Him completely, you will be put under siege. God does not do anything without warning first. He is warning us now because He wants to set us free. For example, if someone suffering from is cured, if the doctors love him, they would advise him that, henceforth, he should live in a clean environment and eat clean food; otherwise he would be back in the hospital. God wants us to free permanently. The word of God says in Romans 6:23,”” He cleanses us from all sins. If anyone under siege asks for mercy from God, he obtains mercy. Since sin is the cause of a siege, as soon as the cause is removed, the effect will go. If you can see some traces of siege in your life and business, go on and ask God to show you what you are doing wrong and make restitution.
MEMORIZE: ISAIAH 55:7 –Let the wicked forsake his way. And the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
