WONDERFUL PROMISES

READ: ISAIAH 60:5-22
We are a peculiar people. God has given us a glorious heritage. “The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.” (Psalm 16:6). Isaiah 55:5 tells us a little more about our peculiarity as a people. “Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations who do not you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you.” When this kingdom is established there may be people who will be assigned to take charge of Egypt. Egypt will run to them, frightened. The Lord God of hosts will have glorified the saints, and the people of the world will be forced to obey them. Isaiah 60:5 and 22 tell us more: “Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.” “A little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation. I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time.” God is saying that if we have a share in this kingdom, those of us who regard ourselves as poor people now will become mighty in those days. The authority God will give to each individual in the kingdom will be such that will awe us. The Bible says the Kingdom has glorious majesty. Look at Psalm 145:11-12: “They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power, to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His kingdom.” Majesty is something beautiful. Glory is also beautiful. The combination of glory and majesty is very big and beautiful. The coming Kingdom is of glorious majesty and I will be part of it. One other thing that makes this Kingdom very beautiful is recorded in Psalm 145:13: “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.” The coming Kingdom will be forever. Once you enter, you will be there forever. This is why the Bible says that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. They are forever. This is one of the reasons why I look forward to the Kingdom. It will be wonderful.
MEMORIZE: PSALM 145:13 –Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
