PHILIPPIANS 4:6-10
The
attitude of many believers to issues that border on the Kingdom of God leaves
much to be desired. It is surprising that our colleagues manifest zeal,
doggedness, aggressiveness and the spirit of tireless fighter in their pursuit
of earthly laurels. They burn the candle at both ends to achieve fame, wealth
and academic titles but, surprisingly, they are so careless about spiritual
things to the extent that people often wonder whether we believe what we preach
concerning the Kingdom of God. Great goals or dreams attract zeal and uncommon
efforts. The greater the prize to be won the keener the competition. The prize
to be won here is eternal glory.”And from the days of John the Baptist until
now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
” No lazy fellow will enter into this kingdom. Laziness here also refers to
laziness in witnessing, in praying, studying the word of God and memorizing the
Scriptures. You may well ask: When will this Kingdom come? Matthew 24:14: “and
this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to
all the nations, and then the end will come.” It is only after we have
witnessed to everybody that the kingdom will come. If you refuse to witness,
you are delaying the Kingdom. As long as you delay the Kingdom, there will be
suffering. If you have been witnessing but without being active in your house
fellowship you are living below divine expectation. You must hasten the advent
of the Kingdom. You must get ready to rule in the Kingdom. If you want to rule
in the Kingdom, you have to change the way you pray. The Kingdom of God suffers
violence and the violent are taking it by force. Talk to Jesus Christ to remove
whatever will not make you make the Kingdom of God. Ask Him to remove them by
force, if need be. The Bible tells us to “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to
God.” (Philippians 4:6) In modern language, this verse is simply saying
we should not worry about anything. Be anxious for nothing. This is not an
advice but a command. God says you should not worry. To obey is better than
sacrifice. You must fight against worry and anxiety. You must manifest holy
aggression and resilience. Do not handle eternal things with levity. Take the
Kingdom of God by force.
