READ: PSALM
90:3-6
God’s love
is multi-dimensional. God does a lot of things for u because He loves us. He
would not allow anything to hurt us because He loves us. Those who constitute
themselves into enemies and attempt to fight God’s people are taking a great
risk. Hence, fighting against or hurting a chid of god is worse than going on a
suicide mission. Our God is a jealous God. He does not spare those who hate His
children. In Psalm 76:5-6, the Bible tells us what God can do to those who
think they can stand against the children of God: “The stouthearted were plundered;
they have sunk into their sleep; and none of the mighty men have found the use
of their hands. At your rebuke, O god of Jacob, both the chariot and horse were
cast into a dead sleep.” All the enemies of God will be made to sleep
while the Almighty God shall remain awake. In Psalm 90:3-6, the Bible says: “You
turn man to destruction, and say, return, O children of men. For a thousand
years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the
night. You carry them away like a flood; they are like a sleep. In the morning
they are like grass which grows up. In the morning it flourishes and grows up;
in the evening it is cut down and withers.” Here, man is said to be
like sleep in the hand of God. If you shake a man, the sleep is gone. In the
same manner, if God wants to destroy anybody, all He has to do is to give the
fellow a little shake. Also, the passage talks of man as ordinary grass. The night
guards you put your trust in may look strong in the morning but may be dead
before the night. However, God is forever strong. This is why David in Psalm
4:8, “I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make
me dwell in safety.” This is a message for us at this perilous time. You
should know that if God is on your side, you can sleep in peace and wake in
peace. Do not put your trust in any human security because they can fail. It is
only God who cannot fail. Trust the Lord today and He will not fail you.
