PAYING THE PRICE

READ: MARK14:3-9
Success has become somewhat elusive to a lot of people. Many people have failed to achieve success because they are not ready to tread the pathway of success. Success is not cheap. It is costly. You have to pay the price if you must savour the joy of success. Many people are eager to get to the top but very few are willing to pay the price. Let us examine the price of success:
(a) Work comprehensively. 2 Timothy 4:5 says: “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” Whatever you do for God, do it comprehensively. Do it with total joy. Make a full proof of your ministry. If you are pastor, for instance, you have to pay attention to all departments in your church;
(b) Concentrate on your own part. Mark 13:34 says, “It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.” To every man his work. You are not to be a “Jack of all trades.” Your portion of the big work will be given to you. Do not try to do other people’s work for them, to avoid getting into trouble. Be thorough. Do not be haphazard. You have to conclude every assignment. Jesus said, in John 4:34, that: “…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” Make sure you finish whatever God give you to do. If you observe these rules of success, you will get to the top.
MEMORIZE: JOHN15:14 –You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
