BENEFITS OF GOD’S PRESENCE

READ: GENESIS 39:2-5
The presence of God brings many good things to anyone with whom he stays. From today’s reading, we see Joseph prospering because of this. When God is with you, you will enjoy personal prosperity. No assignment will be too difficult for you to undertake and nobody will be able to hinder your promotion. “For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” (Psalm 75:6-7).
Joseph was a slave in Potiphar’s house but because God was with him, he became the overseer who decided who ate what. That is supernatural promotion. Your promotion is not in the hands of your boss. Have you been threatened with the sack, demotion or denial of promotion at your work place for no just cause? Rejoice. God’s verdict will supersede that of man and those threats will be converted into multiple promotion.
The Scripture says God puts down and sets up. God will dethrone those sitting on your progress and replace them with those whose major concern will be to see to it that you are promoted. Then God will lift up. This year, as you remain faithful to him, God will lift you up. That means he will scatter certain things and reorganise them in your favour. He disorganised queen Vashti to organise Esther, a slave girl. He will disorganise others to lift you up (Job 34:24).
When God is with you, opposition will begin to crumble. Divine protection will also be yours as promised in Isaiah 43:2. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace but the only thing that was burnt was the rope used in tying them. This is because of God’s presence. If God is with you, any fire your enemies prepare for you will only succeed in destroying the yokes in your life.
For God to continue to be with you, delight yourself in what concerns God. Show him that you love him by obeying him completely. Worship him and avoid sin. As you do all this, he will continue to manifest his power in your life.
MEMORIZE: PSALM 75:6-7 –For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.
