DRUNK WITH WHAT?

READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 11:19-22
The human body has a tremendous vacuum, which can either be filled by God or by the devil. What you are filled with determines who you are, what comes out for your mouth, how you will behave, the degree of accomplishing your goals in life, whether your destiny will be achieved or not an d where you will spend eternity. “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)
An alternative word for alcoholic drinks is spirits. This is rightly so. Anyone taking alcohol is actually being loaded with evil spirits. Several demons can live inside one person, just as Mary Magdalene had seven but the mad man of Luke 8:26-30 had a legion, that is 1000 demons. The issue is, with what are you drunk?
Ananias and Sapphira were preoccupied with their plan to deceive and keep back part of the proceeds they made from selling their land. In Acts 5:3 Peter, by the gift of the Holy Ghost, discovered and said it was Satan who filled their hearts. This led to their untimely death. Do you know, when you are filled with hatred, lustful thoughts or evil plans, you are actually being filled with demons, and thereby calling for judgement, like Ananias and Sapphira? With what do you occupy your mind daily?
If you allow the Holy Spirit to fill you, he will keep on producing his fruit in your life according to Galatians 5:22-23. You will soon see yourself conforming to his desire and nature. Before long the issues that easily annoyed you will have no more effect. In the past, I became easily annoyed with people. But since I have permitted the Holy Spirit to dwell in me and fill me up, I have begun to have a broadened perspective and a more accommodating and compassionate heart.
In Acts 13:6-12, Paul was filled with the Holy Ghost. If you allow him to fill you, he will begin to show you God’s glory and even your heavenly mansion and rewards. Living a holy life becomes easy when you are filled with the Holy Ghost. Ask the Lord to fill you afresh with his Spirit. Reject the filth Satan is trying hard to occupy your mind with. The vacuum in your heart is meant for the Holy Ghost alone.
MEMORIZE: ACTS 8:17 –Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
