YOU ARE GOD’S TEMPLE

READ: 1 SAMUEL 16:13-14
It is possible for God to dwell inside of men. From our reading, we are told that when David was anointed, the Spirit of God came upon him. You, too, can be a temple where God lives and your home becomes God’s house if you allow his ark in – that is, your home becomes a house of fellowship. To be God’s temple, all the filth inside of you must be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Every secret and open sin must be dealt with, by acknowledging that you are a sinner, confessing and forsaking the sins, and inviting Jesus Christ into your heart.
After your conversion, take another step to identify openly with Christ and his children by submitting yourself for water baptism (by immersion). The scripture says: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved…” After this, go ahead and ask God to fill you with his Spirit. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, he will come empty-handed. He will begin to give you the gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. They are nine of them, classed as revelational, inspirational and power-filled gifts.
The presence of these gifts of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life facilitates and simplifies souls winning. This was why Peter, who had backed out since his Master had been crucified, boldly preached a sermon after the Holy Ghost came to dwell in him – and won 3000 souls! In his next sermon (Acts 4:4) another 5000 souls were saved.
When the Holy Spirit makes you his abode, you will lay hands on the sick and they will be healed. Even the sweat that comes out of your body will be anointed (Acts 19:11-12). With this kind of anointing, you will be able to subdue and tear apart every spiritual enemy standing in your way. You will be able to withstand thousands of enemies (Psalm 3:6). By this anointing you will be able to live holy. Rising and falling will become a thing of the past. Then you will begin to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Have you decided to ask God to come and dwell permanently in you?
MEMORIZE: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:20 –For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
