USING GOD?

READ: MATTHEW 7:21-23
A singer once sang a song, ‘How do you treat god, how do you treat God? Like a GOD or DOG?’ This is an important question for every one of us to answer. The letters GOD when reversed, spell DOG. Many people relate to God as someone they should send on errands, or a tool they can use to obtain results. How do you relate to God? “Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Consider your ways! You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.’” (Haggai 1:5-6).
When you begin to use God, God will begin to fight against you. God is the one who makes everything, natural or spiritual, work as he had programmed it to; which means that if he removes his hand, when you eat food, you will not derive the supposed vitamins and nutrients it should give your body. When you clothe yourself, the warmth that should follow is absent; when you amass wealth and take stock, you find that the wealth is disappearing mysteriously through unseen holes. Are you still ready to use God?
“Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Some Christians today are not interested in walking righteously before God. All they are interested in is using the name of Jesus to perform miracles. Of course situations respond to that Name, and miracles will flow, but eventually these people will be told: “Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” How do you deal with God? Do you pray to God only when there is a problem? Are you using God like a fan on a hot day? Examine your ways and change. Develop a right relationship with God today. Submit totally to his infinite majesty and accord him his rightful position, as Lord of your life. You will reap the dividends.
MEMORIZE: PSALM 127:1 –Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
