READ: ISAIAH 49:22-26
Several benefits accrue
to God’s anointed. The question is: Are you God’s anointed? According to Psalm
2:1-5, when you become God’s anointed, He will automatically inherit your
enemies. This means those contending with you will now have God to contend
with. Every gathering against you from then is against God. Every arrow shot
against you is against God. So the Lord will take over your battle. This
season, the Lord will inherit your enemies and take over your battles. The Lord
will oppress your oppressors and torment your tormentors in Jesus name. Many
Christians claim the promise in verse 25b of our reading, yet they are
abandoned to fight their battles themselves. This is because they are not God’s
anointed.
Similarly, Psalm 20:6 says, salvation is available for God’s anointed. Whatever unpleasant state you may find yourself, if you are God’s anointed, He will make a way of escape for you. No truly anointed of God can remain in captivity for too long, except in a trial of faith situation. As God’s anointed, if you are caged, God feels caged. No cage can contain His Almightiness hence you will break loose. Similarly, Psalm 28:8 says God is the saving strength of His anointed. Who or what is your strength? God can become the means by which you accomplish various tasks.
“There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed” (Psalm 132:17). From this verse, light is reserved for God’s anointed. It does not matter the degree of darkness or evil designed against you, God’s light will eventually swallow up such darkness. As you decide to become God’s anointed from today, evil will flee from you. Darkness will be replaced with God’s triumphant light that your heavenly account has been credited with. Another benefit of the anointed is that God rebukes kings and opponents who stand in the way of His anointed according to Psalm 105:14-15. Have some influential persons sat on your promotion, or seized what is yours without receiving a divine reprimand? That may be an indicator that you are yet to be His anointed. He reproved kings for the sake of Abraham and Isaac and He will do the same for you. Decide to be His anointed today. Tell Him you are ready to pay any price.
