READ: MARK 9:33-37
“Before the mountains were brought forth, or
ever You have formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting, You are
God” (Psalm 90:2). God is the
oldest being within and outside the universe. His existence is from dateless
past to unending future. Everything else in heaven, the galaxies and on earth
has a beginning except God. Everything else has an end except God. Hence, He is
the only One who can assure us of eternal life and bring that hope to pass
according to Titus 1:2. God’s promise of eternal life for you and your family
shall be fulfilled in Jesus name.
We are brought up to respect and honour our parents and elders and have mutual regards for our peers. But some of us have an inappropriate view of ourselves in relation to God. The day you gave your life to Christ, you became a new born babe. That is just the beginning of a life time walk with God. Although God wants you to progress from one level of growth to another, that does not change your essence as a child of God. Some Christians, especially ministers of God, detest being addressed as ‘children’ of God. They’d rather choose to be called ‘man’ of God or ‘adult’ of God. In reality, no matter your spiritual height, growth or level, you cannot outgrow being addressed as ‘child’ of God. Before Him, you remain a babe because He is the Ancient of Days.
To access God’s blessings with ease, come to Him as a child. It has frequently been observed that fewer miracles attend to ministrations in universities compared to times we ministered to the uneducated. It is because those in the ivory tower allow their education stand in their way. They are very analytical. When hands are laid on them, instead of coming with child-like faith to receive, they will probe everything in their search for scientific explanations of the expected blessings. They want to know if the healing power will come as current or wave, whether it will first flow to the right or left before completing the circuit. When they are probing, the anointing comes and by-passes them. But if you go to my village and tell them, ‘By His stripes, you are healed’, they will believe and receive healing immediately. Once at university of Ibadan, I asked the brethren if they were willing to receive miracles like babies. After a while, they agreed and that seminar was the best we have had in 10 years. How do you see yourself? Your childlikeness or otherwise will determine your response to God, level to humility and speed of your blessings. Be wise!

as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
