READ: JUDGES 16:22-30
The one who would
benefit maximally from God’s protective shadow is the ‘dweller’ not the
‘visitor’. Psalm 91:1 describes such as “he that dwells,” that is, who
continues to reside in God’s secret place. The same person is described in
Psalm 1:1-3 as the “tree that is planted by the rivers of water,” not just a
river. Location has a lot to do with the blessings you receive. When an electric
iron is permanently plugged to the source of unlimited electricity supply, it
will never lack power. Hence Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they
shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Believers have time for everything else but waiting upon God. When last did you
tarry in His presence, just you and the Lord, all night long, or for some days?
When last did you decide to stay alone with God just worshipping, praising and
offering thanks without asking for anything? Many believers’ understanding of
prayer is to ask, ask and ask. No time to give, give and give in prayer. But
the latter is more preferred and spiritually, financially and materially more
rewarding.
Samson was alright while his hair remained. No single or group of enemies could defeat him as long as his hair was intact. His hair was the bridge-his link with God. His hair was his power conductor. When his air was shaven, his bridge linking him with the supernatural was broken. According to Judges 16:19-21, he immediately lost his power conductor and became as helpless as a widow in the midst of adversaries. He suffered a blackout when his eyes were plucked. When his hair began to grow, his prayer link was re-established. He cried for vengeance and brought down the roof on his enemies (Judges 16:22-30). We see two types of Samson. Samson in power and Samson without power. The one in power was an undefeated champion while the one without power was a helpless victim. Every child of God has these two parts. What most are used to is their out-of-power self. Some have never discovered or tasted themselves in power. Yet everything heaven has assigned them to do can only be accomplished in their empowered state. Until you discover your empowered self, you can never attain the greatest height or fulfil your destiny. You remain a victim of circumstances and enemies as long as you live without God’s power. It takes waiting regularly in His presence to discover the empowered you.

ISAIAH 64:4 –For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor
perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, beside You, what He has
prepared for him that waits for Him.
