A WINNER

READ: PSALM91:3-10
What do you consider when you want to enter into a business partnership? When going into partnership with someone you will, of course, wish to know what kind of person the prospective partner is. This kind of knowledge should help you decide whether or not the partnership is worth going into. The Bible says that those who know their God shall do exploits (Daniel 11:32). To develop confidence in God, we would want to know who God is. We would want to know what He has done and what He can still do. God introduced Himself to Abraham in Genesis 17:1 “I am the Almighty God…” He is the Almighty. What exactly do we mean by Almighty? If you break the word into two, you will have “All” and “Mighty”. This means the One who has all might. If you relate to God as the One who has all power, He will show you His attributes and power. If you relate to Him as the One who can do all things, He will show you that He, surely, can do all things. When you confess He is your Healer, He will want to find out whether you really mean it or not. Your healing may not come immediately after you have prayed. He may deliberately want to know whether you are trusting or not. For example, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said the Lord they were serving was able to deliver them, and that He would deliver them. He allowed them to be thrown into the midst of the fiery furnace before He delivered them. He could have prevented them from getting into the fire. He could have sent a bolt of thunder to wipe out the whole army of Nebuchadenezer. However, He wanted to be sure that they really meant what they said. Gold would always test you. He is the Most High God. The Bible says: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1). The moment you have the Most High on your side, you are secure. In Ecclesiastes 5:8, the Bible describes God as someone higher than the highest. “If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them.” Because He is the Most High, you have nothing to worry about, if you are in partnership with Him. If the One who is higher than the highest is on your side, you will be a winner all the time.
