CALLED OR CHOSEN?

READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 9:24-27
In the story of the ten virgins recorded in Matthew 25:1-13, one would wonder if they were the only virgins in the land. No. There were more but only ten of them were chosen. As the case of king Ahasuerus’ search for the right virgin as his queen, recorded in Esther chapter two, so also were all the virgins summoned but only ten chosen. “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen” (Matthew 20:16).
Usually, only a fraction of those who are called are eventually chosen. Many athletes compete in a race but only a few receive prizes for the best three. Every year, many people apply for jobs and attend interviews but only very few are chosen. If you are a minister of God, you are already called but probably not chosen, because from experience many ministers of God will not it to Heaven. Are you a born again, sanctified, Spirit-filled, demon-chasing believer? Praise God. You have been called but time and Heaven will tell if you are among the chosen few. If for whatever reason you end up in hell, it means you are not among the chosen. Judas was called to be among the twelve. But was he chosen? Are you among the chosen?
The chosen ones are God’s elect (Mark 13:20). To be an elect means that an election was held by the Trinity and they all voted for you. You must be very special to be chosen according to Deuteronomy 7:6. The chosen are also peculiar (Deuteronomy 14:2). If you say you are among the chosen few, people should look at you and immediately tell that there is something unique about you, even without saying you a word. The chosen ones are precious to God. They are a peculiar treasure to Him (Psalm 135:4). They are so close to God that God attests to their friendship (Isaiah 41:8). God called Abraham His friend. Can He say the same of you? God draws His chosen very close to Him (Numbers 16:5) and defends him tremendously (Isaiah 41:9-13). If you see someone who is close to God you will know at once. You have been called: Are you chosen?
MEMORIZE: PSALM 135:4 –For the Lord has chosen Jacob to Himself, and Israel for His peculiar treasure.
