READ: MATTHEW 13:44-46
You need an uncommon
breakthrough to fulfil your destiny on earth. Without this you may remain
ordinary or average. It takes an uncommon breakthrough to single you out from
the crowd of ordinary people, and make you the envy of your colleagues. A
single uncommon breakthrough can rewrite your history and change your destiny. You
need it. The Lord will give you uncommon breakthrough in Jesus name.
Such a breakthrough does not happen by chance. You must be ready to pray for it. Some people who are asking God for an uncommon breakthrough cannot go beyond five minutes in prayer. They are only kidding. Almost anyone may receive the regular breakthrough but God reserves uncommon breakthroughs for aggressive seekers. In Matthew 7:7, Jesus says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.”
To enter into the realm of uncommon breakthrough, you will have to ask, seek and knock. The Greek word for ‘ask’ is ‘aiteo’. It means to crave, desire, beg, require or demand. To ask implies that you are in want. This covers all good things you want God to do for you that are urgent. ‘Aiteo’ also means to keep on asking until the answer comes. This brings us to effective asking. It is not enough to ask once, twice or thrice. Elijah kept asking in prayer until the rains came. 1 Kings 18:41-46 says Elijah asked seven times for the rains to come. Seven is the number of perfection and completeness, which means he satisfied God’s required number of asking before the rains were released.
Are you tired of praying for that uncommon breakthrough in your ministry, family or finances? Do not give up. Fill up your prayer container and your rain will come (Revelation 8:3-5). You are assumed not to have asked God for that particular blessing until we see the result. To seek suggest a loss. If you are trusting God for restoration of stolen blessings, gifts, opportunities and grace, what you have to do is seek, not ask. You have to seek according to our reading until you find what you are searching for. If you stop before you see it, then you have terminated the process. Knocking suggests a need. This speaks of urgency. When something must be done urgently, you have to knock. This means being desperate. You have to get Heaven’s attention by all means especially in desperate situations. Have you been praying correctly?
