READ: 1 KINGS 18:37-38
God answers by fire. Elijah
prayed and fire fell from Heaven. Each time God answered prayers by sending
down fire, it was because there something on the ground or altar that the fire
needed to consume. Of the seven accounts in which fire came down from Heaven in
the Old Testament, two of them were to destroy God’s enemies – when two
companies of soldiers were sent to arrest Elijah (2 Kings 1:8-12). Every
satanic army sent to arrest you or your blessings shall be roasted by fire in
Jesus name. In the other five accounts, fire fell to consume sacrificial
offerings (Leviticus 9:22-26; Judges 6:19-21; 1 Kings 18:37-38; 1 Chronicles
31:24-26; 2 Chronicles 7:1-15). Today, we ask God to send fire on nothing. That
is a presumptuous act. If you truly want God to send fire in answer to your prayer,
then provide Him a sacrificial offering.
When the fire fell, it not only consumed the sacrifice on the altar, but also the wood and the stones. Ordinarily, fire does not consume stones. But with the fire of the Holy Spirit, there is no impossibility. Where ordinary fire stop, is where it begins. Stones here symbolize poverty, failure and lack of fulfillment and satisfaction. They also symbolize impossibility. Whatever negative symbol stones represent in your life and situation, the fire of the Holy Spirit shall consume them in Jesus name.
In Psalm 91:10-12, we see stones as hindrances to progress. They are capable of inflicting harm or injury if one’s foot hits them. But in that passage God promises to give you victory over stones. The angels of the Lord will carry you above every visible and invisible hindrance planted on your path this year in Jesus name. Such stones could manifest as a set-up or trap in your office in which if you are caught, you may be sacked. The Lord will turn the plans of your detractors against them. Is somebody saying that as long as he is alive you will not reach your goal? Then that person has just signed his death warrant. He or she will die and you will get to your goal in Jesus name. Arise and meet God at the altar of your heart. Present to Him sacrificial offerings of praise, worship, thanksgiving, dedicated and selfless service, quality seeds, to establish and enlarge His Kingdom and the fire will fall.
