READ: GENESIS 41:39-44
“They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them;
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps”
(Matthew 25:3-4).
There are two categories of Christians on earth. They are the wise and the foolish. It is my prayer that you will be among the wise in Jesus name. What is wisdom? Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge. For instance, if you are driving on an unfamiliar road, and you see a sign saying there is narrow bridge ahead, you have gained a vital information or knowledge. What you choose to do with that information is what will determine whether you are wise. The wise will immediately slow down. But the foolish will ignore the sign and accelerate the more.
James 1:22 says we must be doers of the word. Profit comes from putting the knowledge of God’s word into practice. Loss comes from neglecting it. Take for instance, the law of harvest and how it applies to giving. If you give one to God. He will return a hundred to you. Believers know it but many refuse to follow it. I thank God that He has been meeting my needs since I began to apply this knowledge a long time ago. Giving has become a part of me by God’s grace. This is why receiving has become an every day occurrence in my life. Be wise.
Wisdom serves several uses to the ones has it. It enables you to reach your goal like Joshua (Deuteronomy 34:9). You need it to succeed in any assignment like Solomon (2 Chronicles 1:10). It can assist you to get to the throne like Joseph in our reading. It can defend and give life to you (Ecclesiastes 7:12). In fact, Ecclesiastes 9:18 says it is better than weapons of war. How? When you go to war, i twill take time and resources. By the time you win the war you will return with certain casualties. The wise one will sit down at home praising God until God arises and scatters the enemies. You need this wisdom. Proverbs 4:7 says you must acquire it among all other assets. It is better than physical strength (Ecclesiastes 9:16). You can be among the wise virgins today.
