LOOK INWARD FOR SOLUTION

READ: 1 SAMUEL 22:1-2
According to Matthew 9:36-38, our Lord commanded us to pray for workers so that we will have the required manpower to cope with the enormous kingdom assignment before us. If you are complaining about the dearth of workers, you may not have more because you do not appreciate the few you have. If you are not having more workers and assistants to the job, it could be because you are not praying enough. Some who were in the same shoes prayed and over a period they received enough quality workers. Pray.
“And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit you to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).
Apart from praying for more quality workers which every member can do, leaders can go further to raise their needed pillars and workers from their parishes. Do you know that faithful and die-hard evangelists, pastors, teachers, prophets and apostles are in your congregation? Do you know that the financial pillars that will support the church building project and other projects are right there in your church? But they might have come with such potentials buried in them. If you look with your physical eyes, you may only see them as problematic and useless. Ask God to open your eyes so that you can see them through the eyes of the Holy Spirit.
In 1 Samuel 22:1-2, the distressed, debtors, discontented people ran to David as he fled from king Saul, to the cave Adullam and he became their captain. By the time David was through with them, vagabonds and area boys became Captains and Generals in the army. Those who first entered the parish David pastured as worthless and needy fellows over a period became the pillars, strength, confident and mighty men through whom God’s anointing flowed. The onus is on every pastor and church leader to unmask the rejects. If you don’t know how, ask the Holy Spirit to help you bring out what you need from what you have. Also, read and apply human resource management books. Pray and fast about it. Follow up your members thoroughly and be concerned about their personal lives to the extent they allow you. Pray and fast with them over the problems that brought them to your parish. Visit and assist them through all possible avenues open to you. With love, care and prayers, you can unmask them.
MEMORIZE: 2 TIMOTHY 2:2 –And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit you to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
