READ: PSALM 91:13-14
We have been spiritually
empowered to dominate. Ephesians 2:6 says, “And has raised us up together, and made us
sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” If we are seated with
Jesus in heavenly places, and Jesus is seated far above principalities and
powers, then the satanic kingdom is underneath us. This is why God talks of
placing our enemies under our feet. Today’s reading says we have been empowered
to trample on our enemies. To trample a field for instance, you will have to
walk on the grass everyday and in the process, a pathway is created. Not long
after, the grass dies and the way becomes a foot path. If you continue to walk
on it, no grass will ever grow there again.
One reason Christians have re-occurrent problems is that when they trample on the problems, and the problems are about to vanish, they stop trampling. If you can sustain your trampling on the problem through prayer, rebuking them and enforcing God’s word on them, you will have complete victory. What should we trample under foot? They are the lion, dragon, and the adder (snake). They refer to everything the devil is compared to. Through the power of the Holy Spirit they can be tamed. Satan and his agents are under our feet. Genesis 1:26 confirms our lordship over all creatures. If this is so, why is it that many Christians cannot actualize their authority over Satan, demons, sickness and others? One major reason is that they have violated the dress code. In Ephesians 6:12-18, we are told to put on the whole armour of God so that we can enforce victory over the enemy. We are expected to stand on the devil and his agents. Therefore, if there is any part of this dress code that we need, it is our boots. If we believers want to tread upon the scorpions and serpents on bare feet, we will suffer casualties (Luke 10:19). The boots refer to evangelism. For your licence over Satan and his demons to be renewed, you have to be a regular soul winner. You have to win several souls to the Lord. If you do this and later issue a command to demons, they will obey. They will obey you because you have already obeyed Jesus their Creator. If you neglect soul winning and brand yourself deliverance minister, and go to confront the devil, you may end up like the seven sons of Sceva. Demons recognize and respect evangelists!

all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
