READ: LUKE 17:34-36
In the parable of the
ten virgins, the bridegroom arrived at midnight after they had all slept
(Matthew 25:6-7). Why did the bridegroom arrive at midnight?
“The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night? The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night” (Isaiah 21:11-12)
Midnight is when the night meets the day. When the rapture takes place, it will be morning and night. For some it will be night as they will be sleeping in their beds, while for others, it will be day as they will be out working in the field. On that particular day, night and day will fuse together spiritually and physically.
“In those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them” (Revelation 9:6).
According to Revelation 6:14-17; 16:10 and the above passage, the day of the rapture will spiritually be night as it ushers those who are left behind to face the worst tribulation ever known in the history of human existence. Today, people will do anything to stay alive. But during the Great Tribulation, people will do anything to die. Due to the unrivalled suffering, people will swallow pills, drink acid, stab themselves, hang themselves, shoot their heads with guns, attempt to drown in a river, but would not die. They will only add to their pains because death would be inaccessible. It will be worse than a nightmare.
To some, the day of the rapture will be a day of unimaginable joy. It will be the resurrection morning and all the saints will be taken to Heaven (Revelation 20:4-6). According to 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, on that day, saints will change their bodies into glorious bodies (1 Corinthians 15:51-53). All sorrow, tears, discrimination, hunger, etc. will be over. It will be the beginning of a long, peaceful and eternal reign with the King of kings. Which would you have? Night or day? How you respond to God today will determine your fate: it’s your choice.
