GOD HAS A SHADOW

READ: MALACHI 4:1-3
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17).
Light displaces darkness. Wherever there is a 360 degrees supply of light on an object, you will not find any shadow cast around the object. This is one way photographers eradicate shadows from photographs. God is the Father of lights. Just as the sun lightens the earth so do God and Jesus Christ lighten the heavenly planet. But unlike the sun which still cast shadows, the sun of righteousness does not cast shadow in heaven. A minister of God who was taken on a trip to heaven was surprised that as he was conducted round, he could not see his shadow. Then the angel conducting him around told him there was no trace of shadow because with God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
If there is no shadow in heaven, and God does not cast a shadow in heaven, how come Psalm 91:1 talks of the shadow of the Almighty and Psalm 17:8 talks of the shadow of God’s wings? Malachi 4:2 says, “But to you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall”. God created the sun and the lesser lights to provide light to the earth (Genesis 1:16). The sun casts shadow on earth. Since God is the Sun of righteousness, He decided to cast forth a shadow on the earth. But His shadow differs from that of the ordinary sun. While the shadow from the ordinary acts as a shade and many times because it is behind, you cannot benefit from that shade, God’s shadow shades you from all evils. In His shadow there is healing. In His shadow there is forward movement and upward progress. In His shadow there is sure protection. Although there is no shadow in heaven, God decided to cast His shadow on His children on earth so as to shade them from every satanic attack. The benefits of the shadow of God’s wings are immense. Ask Him to hide you there today. Anybody hiding in God’s shadow automatically becomes the apple of His eyes. That’s your best hiding place!
MEMORIZE: MALACHI 4:2 –But to you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
