READ: MATTHEW
17:1-13
“And after six days Jesus takes Peter, James
and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart” (Matthew 17:1).
Another benefit of being on the mountain top is that it sets you apart. When the trio were taken to the mountain top, they were set apart from the other nine and far apart from the multitude. A worker who decides to stay on the mountain top with Jesus would soon be singled out from the crowd of workers. If you want to stand out as a minister among ministers, the place to be is on the mountain top. What makes the difference between those who are outstanding and the average ones in any secular or spiritual endeavour in their location.
When on the mountain top, you are set apart for His glory. You are separated from the crowd. You are distanced from failure, sickness, satanic oppression and every token of the liar. Some believers have continued to suffer demonic manipulation and oppression because they refuse to move from the valley. Others struggle, fight and lobby for certain positions. You are not made by the position you occupy, but by the location you occupy. Some pastors occupy positions but lack the anointing whereas some workers have the anointing and they are the actual crowd pullers. Stop fighting for position: channel such energies and resources to acquire the anointing that will make you outstanding, which comes from His presence.
At the Mount of Transfiguration, the trio saw the glory of Jesus. They also heard God’s voice speaking concerning Jesus. Those at the valley never heard or saw anything. While they disembarked, they asked questions and received answers on deep truths. Jesus asked the trio to keep the secrets they received on the Mount of Transfiguration from others, including the nine. The mountain top is a place to receive deep secrets of the kingdom. Those at the valley will hear parables while those on the mountain top will have Jesus unravel their meanings. When last did you come to the mountain top? How long did you stay? Moses was there 40 days and nights on one occasion. And it showed. When last did you find time to separate yourself and be in His presence for one week or two? When last did you spend 12-24 hours just worshipping alone in His presence? Be separated today!
