WHAT DIET?

READ: 1 PETER 2:1-3
“For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord; walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).
Many who profess Christianity have no records in the Lamb’s Book of Life. They profess but do not possess their feigned relationship with God (Matthew 7:21). Hence, 2 Timothy 2:19 says it is only God’s testimony about those who are His that matters. You should be happy if God calls you His child. Many are witnessing growth in the wrong direction. They have ceased to be babies. May God deliver you from this trap.
“As new born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2). There are at least seven benefits you will derive by being a divine child. According to this Scripture, you have access to drinking milk. Adults eat meat and crack bones. Any doctor will tell you the best food in the world is mother’s milk. A divine babe like me will always desire to study the Bible whereas adults will always read books. While a babe in Christ is quoting Scriptures, an adult will be quoting men of God whose books they read. I thank God for several men of God such as Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Dr. Frederick Price, T.L. Osborn, Oral Roberts and others. I have great respect for them. However, as mighty as they may be in God’s hands, they are men and therefore subject to mistakes. The only thing that is infallible is God’s Word (Psalm 119:89).
When I newly became born again, all I knew was the Bible. Nothing else. Today, we spend much time with books at the expense of the word. What is your attitude to the Word? Your claim to be a child of God is either justified or refuted by your works. It is babies who attend Sunday school classes. Adults avoid it because they believe they already know too much. Babies attend Digging Deep services and Search the Scriptures. Adults don’t. Milk is uncontaminated and therefore the perfect food. How often do you take in the undiluted Word? All kinds of things were written of a mother’s milk by some children. There is no book as attractive as the Bible hence some put it under their pillow; others decorate the centre table or bookshelf with it. How often do you take in the unpolluted milk of God’s Word? How regular are you at meetings designed to help you grow in God’s grace and knowledge?
MEMORIZE: EPHESIANS 5:8 –For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord; walk as children of light.
