HOW POWERFUL IS YOUR SIGHT?

READ: GENESIS 13:14-16
The purpose of the eyes is to see in order to provide direction for the whole body. Jesus says your eyes are the light of your body (Matthew 6:22). In other words, the volume of light you can walk in is dependent on the power of your sight. Every living creature such as animals, birds, insects and men have eyes. The operations of the eyes differ from one creature to another. While most creatures see clearly during the day, some creatures like cats and bats are blessed with night vision. The horizon of the eyes also differs. For instance, the eagle has such powerful eyes that afford it clear vision even from great heights.
Believers have varying sight levels and horizons. While some are as blind as bats in the day time, others can only see men as trees. In other words, they have partial vision. Yet some have full vision. But beyond this, some do not stop at seeing only during the day, they are blessed with night vision – they see clearly at night. Others go even further: they see with the eyes of faith and therefore see the invisible. How powerful is your sight? You cannot possess beyond what you can see. In today’s reading, God told Abraham he can only possess as much as he sees. What do you see?
Your spiritual location – whether you are in the valley or on the mountain top will definitely affect your power of vision. While some believers know God’s plan for their lives and set out single mindedly to achieve it, others are still groping about in the dark, some 10, 20 or 30 years after knowing the Lord. Have you discovered God’s plan for you, your family, business and ministry?
In Hebrews 11:27, Moses saw the invisible. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says the physical things are temporary but the invisible things are eternal. What do you see? The more invisible things you see, the more eternally minded you become and the more prepared you are to live the life of the Spirit. As long as you remain in the valley of prayerlessness, you cannot see the invisible. Relocate today to the mountain top of effective prayerfulness. Seek God in prayer and fasting. Seek Him in worship, praise and thanksgiving. Be separated to be alone with God. While in His presence, you too can see the invisible.
MEMORIZE: GENESIS 13:15 –For all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed for ever.
