A RACE IN FUTILITY

READ: ISAIAH 1:18-20
In Genesis 12:4-10, Abraham was given three conditions by God. He met two but ignored the third. As a result of this disobedience, he entered into the land of Canaan and immediately a land that was flowing with milk and honey started to experience a grievous famine. Some people find themselves in similar circumstances. They heard of a particular thriving business. Everyone that did it blossomed but when they ventured, the business began to suffer a major down turn. Everybody else started complaining. If you find yourself in such shoes, examine yourself. What is the ‘Lot’ in your life? If none, examine your spouse and children. Never give Satan any foothold in your life.
When Abraham met a famine in Canaan, he ran to Egypt. Abraham who was enjoying himself until God call him out became a fugitive and a refugee in a strange land. Disobedience is the reason some believers cannot settle down with a partner in marriage, or in a particular business or job. They are always on the move, and restless. Every spirit of restlessness operating in your life is paralysed today in Jesus name. Immediately go and obey God in that pending area.
For a reader of this Devotional, the ‘Lot’ in your life is ingratitude. You complain too much. You complain almost about everything. The Lord is displeased and says your cup is almost full. Your grumbling and complaining are blocking the release of several blessings from God. However, the Lord is giving you another chance to repent and live a daily life of thanksgiving. As you obey Him, the blessings will follow. As Abraham approached Egypt, fear gripped him over his wife. Her beauty which he once celebrated had suddenly become a curse –his source of sorrow. Anytime you disobey God; poverty, fear, disturbances will be attracted to you. Not long after, he would have lost Sarah to the Egyptian Pharaoh, if not for God’s mercy and intervention. Whatever you have lost to disobedience, as you repent and restitute your ways today, there will be a restoration in Jesus name. a race in disobedience is a race in futility. Disobedience absorbs the gains of your efforts.
MEMORIZE: ISAIAH 1:20 –But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devored with the swod: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.
