REJECTION BEGETS REJECTION

READ: 1 SAMUEL 15:10-23
“And Samuel said, Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22).
Whenever God gives an instruction or command, He expects nothing short of total obedience. The Word of God that you hear through every possible medium is not for fun. The purpose is to compel compliance. Every Word of God you reject accumulates and finally forces God to reject you. Rejection of God’s Word is a seed you must never sow! Abraham lived in half-obedience, which is synonymous with disobedience. God is faithful, and once He has determined to bless someone, He will do everything possible to ensure His promises are fulfilled. Sometimes, even when the fellow God has chosen to bless is partially disobedient, He will not allow that disobedience to spoil His good name. He would have exhausted all possible ways to help you before He hands off. God will not withdraw from you in Jesus name.
In 1 Samuel 13:8-14, God had newly made Saul king and He wanted to establish his kingdom forever. To this end, Samuel instructed him to wait for seven days. When seven days were over and there was no sign of Samuel, Saul saw that the people were becoming impatient and restless. Meanwhile their enemies were gathering to attack them. He could no longer hold on so he yielded to pressure. He defied the office of Samuel by offering the sacrifice only Samuel should. To the Israeli army, he had done what was right. After all, why did Samuel not come at the agreed time? But that single act of impatience and disobedience turned the sacrifice that should have established him, into one that eroded the original blessing. Immediately after the offering was given, Samuel came. Do you know sometimes God tests you to know if you are the type He should establish? After a blessing comes a test. It is when you pass that test before you will be established. Some backslide a day, a week, month or year before their blessing manifests. Beloved, hold on in faith to God. You are closer to your blessing than when you started. Do not allow one little slip rob you of that blessing. God gave Saul another chance but once again he refused to follow instructions so he was rejected. May the Lord never reject you!
MEMORIZE: 1 SAMUEL 15:23 –For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king.
