MIRACLE OR MAGIC?

READ: EPHESIANS 3:16-19
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you being rooted and grounded in love” (Ephesians 3:17).
Another characteristic of the ground is that it is rooted and grounded. This means you should know what you believe. You should know your onions and not be a novice. Hence 2 Timothy 2:15 says you should enroll in God’s school and receive both theoretical and practical lessons until you pass your examinations and receive heaven’s certificate of approval. The way believers, including ministers, live today shows they do not believe God’s Word to be what it is. It is because they are not rotted and grounded. Why do I believe in divine healing for instance? It is because if God does not heal me nobody can. Until your roots and tentacles are firmly and securely anchored on God’s unfailing Word, you will have no bearing.
“That we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14). There are all kinds of satanic doctrines flying in the air waves which some believers swallow without discerning. It is common now for people to accept refined and repackaged magical acts as miracles. It’s so unfortunate that some ministers of the gospel cannot discern between magic and miracle. If they were grounded in the Lord, they would have known the difference.
It was said that a pastor from one of the popular gospel churches went to visit his member. Right in the living room, he told him he wants to demonstrate the power of God. He asked for a tin of a popular brand of milk which has not been opened. He held it and said some prayers and by the time he returned it to the member, the liquid contents had disappeared. Then he asked for a huge sum of money to be put down before he will pray over the member’s problem. What a miracle? No! What a magic! That is turning stones to bread. There is a spirit behind every supernatural act. If it is the Holy Spirit then it is a miracle. But if the spirit is not the Holy Spirit then it is magic. Don’t be fooled by the use of the name of Jesus by such satanic ministers. Many use the name as a means to their ends but have no relationship with Him. On the last day, He will publicly tell them “I never knew you”. Are you rooted in Him?
