ESTHER’S ENCOUNTER WITH FAVOUR

READ: ESTHER 5:1-3
This year is your year of divine favour. In Esther 5:1-3, we are told of king Ahasuerus – the powerful king who ruled over 127 provinces spanning from India to Ethiopia. In his kingdom, among other laws there was one that forbade anyone for seeing this king except on appointment. Entering his presence without an appointment was followed by the death penalty. However, for someone he loves, he could waive that death penalty by lifting up his scepter towards the fellow. But if turned away his face, the soldiers will immediately grab the offender and cut off his head.
There was a need to see the king. It was urgent and for the cause of God’s people. It was a risky venture because the king may not take kindly to this intrusion on his privacy and therefore could let the death penalty follow. Yet Esther, the king’s wife, on whom the law was equally binding, went into the presence of the king. She was prepared to pay the price even if that was the end of her life. When the king looked at Esther, something touched his heart. Instead of anger at the violation of the law, he felt joy. He was also pleased that he raised his scepter towards her and asked her to come nearer. Can you believe it? He offered her half of his entire kingdom even without being asked. Through favour Esther who was a law breaker worthy of death moved to the position where she could ask the king the hardest of things.
This is divine favour! It is your season of favour. Every death decree on your head will be reversed and turned into greater promotion in Jesus name. Where you were turned back several times, they will send for you and not only grant your desire but also give you something better. Wherever you have been hiding, the favour of God will locate you and strategically position you. Favour can be translated in Yoruba as ‘The good face of God’. When you are in favour with God, you will become an object of pleasure. May the good face of God shine on you today and for the rest of your life. You will walk into divine favour this season!
MEMORIZE: PSALM 5:12 –For You, LORD will bless the righteous; with favor will You compass him as with a shield.
