GOD’S KINGDOM IS HERE

READ: ISAIAH 9:6-7
In the days of Daniel, a heathen king dreamt and saw various earthly kingdom in quick succession until the kingdom of God began and finally swallowed up all other kingdoms (Daniel 2:31-34, 41-44). In today’s reading, we are told God’s kingdom begins at the birth of Jesus. That kingdom is already here. When you give your life to Christ, you are born into that kingdom. 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” When you are born again you become a king in God’s kingdom although you may lack the power and authority to back up that exalted position until you receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). It is only those who have power that can rule in the kingdom of God. That power according to Zechariah 4:6, is a spiritual power that comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.
“But to them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24). Do you have power to reign in God’s kingdom? If you are born again, you have no excuse for being powerless because you have Jesus Christ who is the power of God inside of you. As a ruler in God’s kingdom, you must demonstrate God’s power wherever you go, like Jesus did. According to Romans 1:16-17, Paul says, wherever the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached, power is released.
If the power of God in you is bottled up, it shows you are not winning souls. Release that power today by leading somebody to Christ. You would be amazed at the level of power that has remained latent in you all these years. It is through the release of that power that sinners become saints. Criminals are sent to prisons with the hope that their defiant behavior would be corrected. But rather than change for good, many of them have become more hardened in the prison. This shows the failure of the power of earthly governments. It is only the power of God that is released through His kingdom that actually transforms lives inside and outside prison walls. If every government of the world really wants to turn the criminals in the prisons into better citizens, let them give Jesus a chance and they will see hardened criminals turn into saints. When last did you release this power? Every soul that is saved through you makes this world a better place. Every soul that remains unsaved makes the world a terrible place. Go after lost souls today!
MEMORIZE: 1 CORINTHIANS 2:4 –And any speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and the power.
